Product Description

Oak Cliff Place is a superb Victorian detached mansion with 8 bedrooms and stunning unbroken views over the Solent, sleeping up to 16 guests. It is placed in an elevated position amid five acres of land, with its own little wood, and is light-filled, high-ceilinged, and roomy. Walks along the shore lead to sandy beaches and a nature reserve to the west, while Wootton Creek, home to yachts and smaller boats, is to the east.

A wide stone patio with a gas BBQ and two wooden dining tables seats 16 people at the back of the home, overlooking the garden and the sea beyond. There is also an asphalt tennis court, a fenced and heated outdoor swimming pool with pool house (from May 1 to September 30), outdoor table tennis, a ground-sunk trampoline, and various lawns on the expansive grounds. The garden dips to an unfenced, uncultivated, wild flower-filled steep slope, so young children should be cautious, although there is plenty of other play space within the grounds.

Six of the eight bedrooms offer full sea views on the inside. The huge kitchen/dining area leads to the terrace through french doors for convenient outdoor eating and spectacular sea views, while the games room has a pool table and TV for interior entertainment. A 42″ flat screen TV is installed on the wall as an auxiliary TV. With an open fire for chilly evenings, the huge drawing room and adjoining conservatory give a calm backdrop for admiring the lovely seaside view.

There are no pets allowed, but a welcome package is provided.

Briddlesford Lodge, Wootton, with its farm shop and Bluebell Cafe, open everyday for a vast selection of local and organic goods, including hand-made sausages and other meat from the on-site butcher, is a five- to ten-minute drive away. At Ryde, there are miles of magnificent sandy beaches.

A charming Victorian seaside village is four and a half miles away, as is Sandown Beach, which is 11 miles away. Oak Cliff Place is a charming old-fashioned town located halfway between Ryde and Cowes, the world-famous sailing centre. Seaview and Bembridge on the east coast, Yarmouth on the west, and Ventnor and St Lawrence on the south coast are all within 30 minutes’ drive, with beautiful pubs selling local fish and other delicacies. Miles of pathways, unspoiled landscapes, and gorgeous coastline surround you, making for an ideal walking/cycling/riding holiday or family outing.
